Satoshi's Last Message: It Was Not What We Expected

Abstract generation in progress

More than a decade ago, the mystery surrounding Satoshi Nakamoto’s last contact with the crypto world began. On April 26, 2011, he sent an email to Gavin Andresen with a phrase that would become legendary: “I’ve moved on to other things.”

But here’s the interesting part: his actual final post on the forum was much more technical and concerning. It wasn’t a romantic goodbye but a warning about security: “There’s more work to do on DoS.”

That duality says it all. While he was privately saying farewell, publicly he left a technical hint, almost as if he knew the project needed to evolve without him. Coincidence? Probably not.

To this day, no one knows where Satoshi is or what “other things” occupy him. But that last security message remains prophetic: Bitcoin had to deal with DoS vulnerabilities years later.
