Currently, BTC is still hovering around $90,000, and it seems there is not much action, but some research institutions have boldly claimed that it will reach $150,000 by 2026! More importantly, this prediction is not baseless; it is supported by three real support logics. Let's explore this together.

First, let's talk about options. On December 26th, BTC will face the largest options expiration in history, with a nominal value reaching as high as $24 billion, primarily concentrated in leading options trading platforms. The recent weak performance of BTC is attributed to this— a large number of open contracts over $100,000 are weighing down the market, forcing market makers to frequently sell spot to hedge risks, which directly amplifies price volatility. However, this situation is about to change. According to historical patterns, after the expiration of large options, market pressure will gradually be released, just like a year-end cleaning. Once the burdens are cleared, the new year can begin with a fresh start. By then, market makers will no longer have to frantically sell spot to hedge, and the latent buying interest will naturally come to the surface, giving BTC the opportunity to stabilize above the $100,000 mark.

Another driving force comes from institutional allocation. Since the introduction of the spot BTC ETF, it has become much easier for institutions to enter the market. The continued net inflow of ETF funds in 2025 has reached a historical high, which fully indicates that BTC has evolved into a standard configuration in institutional portfolios. There is a phenomenon worth noting right now - every year at the beginning of the year, there is a "January effect" where a large number of retirement funds and asset management giants will readjust their asset allocations. Institutional calculations show that if these large funds increase their BTC allocation, the resulting incremental funds will be quite considerable. This is the third support signal - the scale effect of institutional funds is beginning to take shape.

Can options really rise after getting liquidated? I always feel like it's a trap.

240 billion USD Options expiration? Sounds impressive, but can it really save the market? I just want to see what happens after the 26th.
