According to an SEC filing, AdaptHealth disclosed a cybersecurity incident on June 15, 2026, after a threat actor gained unauthorized access to the company's cloud-based systems. The home medical equipment provider confirmed that personally identifiable information and protected health information of patients were exfiltrated, along with a stored password file associated with insurance billing. The company attributed the breach to a successful social engineering attack that compromised a third-party contractor's user session. AdaptHealth said it has contained the incident through credential resets and access control improvements, and is continuing forensic investigation to determine the full scope of affected data.
