According to ChainCatcher, Amazon topped the 2026 Fortune Global 500 list on July 28, ending Walmart's 12-year reign as the world's largest company by revenue. Alphabet surpassed Saudi Aramco to become the world's most profitable company, posting $132.17 billion in net income. The U.S. had 141 companies on the list, followed by China (including Taiwan) with 122 companies and Japan with 40 companies.
