AMC Reports Best Quarter In 106 Years With Record $1.6B Revenue, EBITDA Surpasses $300M in Q2

AMC Entertainment Holdings Inc. (AMC) CEO Adam Aron announced in Q2 that the movie theater chain achieved record quarterly revenue of $1.6 billion, surpassing Wall Street estimates of $1.5 billion. The company's adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) crossed $300 million in a quarter for the first time in its 106-year history, while earnings per share reached $0.14 against a forecasted loss of $0.01. AMC shares traded up more than 15% in Monday's pre-market.

Aron attributed the strong performance to theatrical releases including Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey and cited an industry-wide domestic box office of $2.99 billion in Q2, up 10.7% year-over-year. He expressed confidence that upcoming blockbusters—Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Dune: Part Three, and Avengers: Doomsday—position 2026 as the strongest post-pandemic year for global box office.
