Apple Foldable iPhone Production Ramp-Up: Lens to Supply UTG, Foxconn Recruits Workers for H2 2026 Launch

According to supply chain sources, Lens will supply the ultra-thin flexible glass (UTG) protective layer for Apple's first foldable iPhone, expected to launch in the second half of 2026. Foxconn will handle final assembly and has begun recruiting temporary and summer workers at its Shenzhen facility, offering hourly rates of 22-26 CNY from July to October, with formal employees receiving a base salary of 2,600 CNY during trial periods.

The foldable hinge will be split equally between Taiwan's AVC and U.S. manufacturer Amphenol. Lens currently supplies UTG and related structural components to major Android foldable device makers and confirmed delivery to major customers by the end of Q2 2026.
