Bankers File Suspicious Activity Report Over Farage's £5M Gift From Tether Billionaire Harborne

According to the Guardian, bankers filed a suspicious activity report with the UK's National Crime Agency on May 16, 2024, regarding a £5 million ($6.7 million) gift to Nigel Farage from crypto billionaire Christopher Harborne. The bankers could not trace the ultimate origin of the funds, though a suspicious activity report is not proof of wrongdoing.

Harborne, a British businessman based in Thailand, holds a 12% stake in USDT issuer Tether and ranks sixth on the Sunday Times Rich List. Farage said he had no reason to doubt the source of the money and was unaware of the report.
