BitPay Gets MiCA License to Offer Regulated Crypto Payments Across EU

BitPay's Dutch subsidiary has received Crypto-Asset Service Provider authorisation from the Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets, enabling the company to offer regulated cryptocurrency and stablecoin payment services across all EU member states under a single licensing framework.

The MiCA licence allows BitPay to support cryptocurrency acceptance, stablecoin settlements and cross-border payment solutions throughout the European Union. Thom de Jong, Chief Compliance Officer Europe at BitPay, said: "Receiving a MiCA authorisation from the AFM strengthens our ability to serve businesses and consumers with regulated digital asset services across the EU."
