Buffett Compares Stock Market to Speculative Gambling, Says Value Investing Opportunities Hard to Find

According to a CNBC interview on July 15, Warren Buffett, chairman of Berkshire Hathaway, compared the current stock market to speculative gambling and said finding value investment opportunities is difficult. "It is hard to find assets of value when everyone prefers to gamble," Buffett said. He criticized that capital markets are now breeding speculators rather than investors, noting that "in recent times, humans love to gamble so much that more money goes into cultivating gamblers than fostering investors." Buffett warned that while opportunities sometimes arrive in quick succession, finding even a single genuine opportunity over years can be extremely fortunate.
