According to CoinDesk, Cardano completed the Van Rossem hard fork on July 18, upgrading the protocol to version 11. The upgrade, the first to be driven entirely by community governance through on-chain voting rather than direct leadership by developer Input Output, received approximately 78.97% support from delegate voters and backing from over 93% of block-producing stake. The upgrade reduces smart contract execution costs and prepares the network for the Ouroboros Leios scaling solution planned for 2026.
