Changxin Storage's DRAM orders are nearly fully booked through end of 2027, with the company now ranked as the world's fourth-largest DRAM maker at 7.7% market share in 2025, according to supply chain reports.
Apple is testing Changxin's LPDDR5X chips for China-market models and has been lobbying U.S. regulators to ease procurement restrictions, but Bank of America's July semiconductor report identified three barriers to large-scale adoption: geopolitical compliance (Changxin remains on the U.S. Defense Department's military suppliers list), technical performance gaps versus flagships requirements, and patent infringement risk from DRAM IP held by Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron. Meanwhile, PC manufacturers including Dell, HP, and Lenovo have secured long-term DRAM supply agreements with Changxin to ensure production capacity through 2027, as AI servers increasingly absorb capacity from traditional DRAM suppliers.
