China and EU Hold First Trade and Investment Consultations Meeting, Issue Joint Statement on Partnership

According to People's Daily, China and the EU held the first meeting of the Trade and Investment Consultations Mechanism recently in Brussels and issued a joint statement, repositioning their economic relationship as a "stable and balanced key trading partner."

Both sides agreed to deepen cooperation and resolve trade concerns through institutional dialogue. China stated it remains willing to engage in dialogue to address differences while defending its legitimate trade and industrial interests.
