China Calls for Withdrawal of Overseas Nuclear Weapons on May 15 at UN NPT Conference

According to Jin10, China called for the withdrawal of overseas-deployed nuclear weapons to domestic territories on May 15 during the 11th Review Conference of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) at the UN headquarters in New York. China expressed serious concern over existing nuclear-sharing and extended deterrence arrangements, urging nuclear-weapon states to avoid new deployments in foreign territories.

China also highlighted the critical imbalance in sensitive nuclear material supply and demand among certain countries, calling for the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to strengthen research and monitoring to prevent non-compliance with NPT regulations.
