Danish PM Frederiksen Says Greenland Will Not Be Sold on July 8

According to Chinese state media CCTV, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen stated on July 8 that Greenland will not be sold. The statement came after U.S. President Trump reiterated a day earlier that Greenland should be controlled by the United States. Greenland is an autonomous territory of Denmark. Trump, who returned to office in 2025, has repeatedly claimed the territory and suggested military action remains an option, straining U.S. relations with Denmark and other European allies.
