According to the federal complaint, the FBI arrested Zyaire Wilkins, 21, on July 15 for financing a scheme that embedded crypto-stealing malware into eight Steam games, infecting approximately 8,000 devices and draining at least $220,000 in cryptocurrency from roughly 80 wallets between May 2024 and February 2026.

Investigators traced stolen Bitcoin from the scheme's wallet to more than 150 gift cards purchased through Bitrefill, with most spending traced to Uber Eats orders linked to Wilkins' residence and university addresses. Wilkins paid $10,000 for a remote access Trojan but did not build the malware himself; prosecutors say he worked with a lead developer who remains uncharged.
