Fed Chair Kevin Warsh Calls CPI, PPI Imperfect Inflation Measures on July 15

According to Yonhapinfomax, Fed Chair Kevin Warsh on July 15 described the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and Producer Price Index (PPI) as imperfect measures for assessing underlying inflation. Speaking before the Senate Banking Committee, Warsh noted that recent CPI and PPI data released over the previous two days came in below market expectations, adding that any central bank welcomes data moving in a favorable direction.
