Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index Falls 0.78% in Morning Trading; Semiconductor Stocks Rally

According to Smart Finance, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index declined 0.78% (down 188 points to 24,011) in morning trading on July 9, while the Hang Seng Tech Index fell 0.06%. Morning turnover reached 204.1 billion Hong Kong dollars.

Semiconductor stocks bucked the broader decline. Changxin Semiconductor rose 13.86%; Huahong Semiconductor gained 6%; and SMIC climbed 6.9%. Additionally, several newly listed stocks showed mixed performance on their debut, with Guzhen Precision declining 34% and Qiyun Mountain Food surging over 187%.
