According to Jin10, Iran's Revolutionary Guards spokesman said on July 26 that the new conflict stems from U.S. violations of the Strait of Hormuz transit agreement. The spokesman stated that the U.S. breached the accord by declaring an alternative shipping corridor, prompting the Guards to block vessel passage and strike non-compliant ships. The U.S. subsequently attacked Iranian coastal areas, islands, and radar installations. In response, the Revolutionary Guards launched Operation Victory 2 to compel American compliance with its commitments.
