KAIST and NVIDIA Establish Human Physical AI Research Center on July 26

According to Yonhapinfomax, KAIST and NVIDIA established the Human Physical AI NVAITC on July 26 to develop artificial intelligence models that understand and predict human movement. The center, led by professors Kong Kyung-chul and Kim Jung, will combine KAIST's human motion data and gait control technologies with NVIDIA's AI computing infrastructure. The primary research goal is to build a generative AI foundation model that learns from large-scale human movement datasets to understand, predict, and generate diverse human motions. The technology is expected to enable wearable robots and humanoids to more accurately interpret user intentions and respond naturally, with applications in rehabilitation, healthcare, manufacturing, and logistics sectors.
