NEOS Co-Founder Calls for Regulatory Oversight on Korea's Leverage ETF Market on July 28

According to Yonhapinfomax, on July 28, Lee Tae-yong, co-founder of the first U.S. leverage ETF and NEOS Asia Strategy Chief, called for proactive regulatory intervention and investor protection measures in Korea's leverage ETF market. In an interview, Lee noted that Korea differs from the U.S. in that retail investors show strong preference for high-leverage products and certain stocks concentrate significant portfolio weight. He advised regulators to strengthen oversight of ETF marketing through official channels and fintech influencers, tighten product approval standards by assessing underlying asset capacity and market impact, and learn from recent U.S. market distortions caused by single-stock leverage ETFs.
