Pentagon Deploys F-16 and F-35 Fighter Jets to Middle East on July 17 Amid U.S.-Iran Tensions

According to the U.S. Air Force magazine Air & Space Forces and The Wall Street Journal, the Pentagon on July 17 deployed additional F-16 and F-35 fighter jets to the Middle East as tensions with Iran escalate. The deployment includes F-16 fighter jets from the U.S. Air Force's 480th Fighter Squadron based at Spangdahlem Air Base in Germany, and F-35 fighter jets from the 48th Fighter Wing based at RAF Lakenheath in the United Kingdom. Multiple aerial refueling aircraft are also being sent to the region.
