Progressive Groups Criticize Gillibrand Over CLARITY Act Crypto Bill Support

According to Politico, progressive groups sent a letter to Democratic Senate offices Tuesday evening criticizing Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, chair of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, over her support for the CLARITY Act. The groups cited her son's involvement in the crypto industry, arguing it undermines Democratic efforts to hold the Trump administration accountable for corruption. Gillibrand has previously called for preventing elected officials and their spouses from issuing digital assets. The CLARITY Act, which cleared the Senate Banking Committee in May with bipartisan support, requires 60 votes to pass.
