SK Hynix Korea Shares Fall 28% While U.S. ADR Trades 51% Higher, Widening Price Gap

According to financial data firm F&Guide, SK Hynix domestic shares fell over 28% through July 21 while the company's U.S.-listed American Depositary Receipts (ADR) surged, creating a price disparity of 51%. On July 14, the domestic stock closed at 1.91 million Korean won while ADR shares climbed 27.29% to $193.92, converting to approximately 2.9 million won at the 10:1 exchange ratio. The price divergence has drawn significant investor attention, with SK Hynix becoming the most-searched stock among domestic investors over July 14-20 with 2,965 searches, surpassing Samsung Electronics at 1,825 searches. Analysts attribute the excessive decline to a sell-off following quarterly earnings expectations and ADR listing-related demand reversals.
