According to MBN, SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won said memory chip demand will surge more than 50% next year, prompting the company to build semiconductor plants globally. SK Hynix plans to construct facilities in South Korea's Honam region and the United States, with the Honam project requiring approximately 400 trillion won in investment. Tae-won also recommended investors hold SK Hynix shares long-term amid the global memory chip shortage.
