South Korea's KOSPI Falls 7.02% to 6,950, Breaching 6,000 Line as Semiconductor Stocks Plunge

According to News 1, South Korea's KOSPI index fell 525.01 points to 6,950.93 today (July 13), representing a 7.02% decline and marking its first breach of the 6,000 level in 48 trading days since May 4. Semiconductor stocks led the selloff, with SK Hynix and SK Telecom each dropping 12%, while Samsung Electronics fell 7%. The index triggered a temporary halt on program sell orders (sell-side circuit breaker) at 10:34 a.m., the 18th such halt this year. Foreign investors and institutions sold aggressively, with foreign net selling at 1.84 trillion won and institutional selling at 677.6 billion won, while retail investors posted net buying of 2.49 trillion won.
