UK Chancellor Delays Fuel Duty Increase Originally Planned for September, Postponing 5 Pence Per Liter Hike

According to The Sun, UK Chancellor Rachel Reeves plans to announce next week a postponement of the fuel duty increase originally scheduled for September. The temporary fuel tax cut that began in 2022 was set to expire in September; without its extension, fuel prices would rise by 5 pence per liter (approximately 6.6 cents). The UK government has previously extended this reduction multiple times, most recently in November last year's autumn budget statement, and Reeves is preparing to extend it again.
