U.K. Fraud Review Recommends Whistleblower Bounties, Judge Training for Crypto Cases on July 14

According to Cryptopolitan, U.K. barrister Jonathan Fisher KC recommended in a government-commissioned fraud review released on July 14 that authorities offer financial bounties to whistleblowers and train judges to handle cryptocurrency laundering and AI fraud cases. The report noted that fraud accounts for nearly 50% of reported crime in the U.K., yet only 1% result in criminal justice outcomes. Fisher's recommendations include establishing an independent panel to address whistleblower complaints and doubling maximum prison sentences for serious fraud and money laundering to 20 years. The U.K. government said it will examine the proposals and respond.
