According to Jin10, on July 15, the U.S. is advancing negotiations to reopen the Iraq-Syria oil pipeline, which has been dormant for over 20 years, aiming to bypass the Hormuz Strait and reduce Iran's future influence over global energy supply.

Special U.S. envoy Thomas Baraka convened officials and companies including Chevron to discuss revival of the Kirkuk-Banias pipeline. Trump stated that "substantial" new oil cooperation will be announced this week or next.
