Zcash's Original Node Software zcashd Halts at Block 3,417,100 After 10-Year Run

According to PANews, Zcash's original node software zcashd halted at block height 3,417,100 on July 19, after operating for ten years. ZODL founder Josh Swihart announced that the software, which was forked from Bitcoin Core v0.11.2 and launched the Zcash network on October 28, 2016, has officially retired. The Zcash network continues to operate uninterrupted on Zebra and Zakura, modern Rust-based node implementations, with Zallet replacing zcashd's wallet functionality.
