Air raid sirens sounded in southern Israel.
Golden Ten Data reported on May 22 that on the evening of the 21st local time, an air defense siren sounded in Ashkelon and surrounding areas in southern Israel. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said Israeli air defense systems had successfully intercepted a rocket from the Gaza Strip without causing casualties. Israel’s public broadcaster reported that Jihad claimed responsibility for the attack.
