Yield bearing assets living inside DeFi could bring serious capital onchain. I’ve already seen funds test this with tokenized T bills and credit, and it feels different from past cycles.
So maybe 2026 is not a random spike. It’s the start of the slow institutional climb BTC went through before. ETH becoming productive longterm starts to make more sense here

There is a separate oracle by Cubist watching the main consortium step by step. Not trusting one group, but forcing agreement across layers.
Minting LBTC only goes through when both sides sign off. From a trader pov that reduces a lot of the stress around wrapped BTC risk.
After sitting through years of bridge hacks and paused withdrawals, this kind of layered verification feels great.
