According to Foresight News, password manager 1Password announced the launch of "1Password for Claude" integration on Thursday, enabling Anthropic's Claude AI assistant to complete login and one-time verification tasks without accessing passwords directly. Built on a "zero-exposure architecture," credentials are displayed to users for biometric confirmation, then injected directly into web pages by 1Password—Claude never sees passwords or verification codes, and access is limited to the current task only.
The integration also includes an "Agentic Mode" feature that automatically locks the browser interface when a compatible AI agent takes control, restricting access to only explicitly authorized credentials for the task at hand. The service is now available on Mac for enterprise, family, and individual users, requiring 1Password desktop and browser extension plus Claude desktop and browser applications.
