AI Infrastructure Poised to Surpass Tech Giants; Economic Profit to Hit $1.4T by 2027, UBS Reports

According to UBS Holt research, the economic profit of AI infrastructure—including high-performance memory and semiconductor equipment—is projected to surge from $200 billion in 2023 to $1.4 trillion by 2027, representing a 600% increase. In contrast, hyperscale cloud service providers' economic profit is expected to grow only from $200 billion to $400 billion over the same period.

UBS forecasts the top five economic profit generators by 2027 will be Nvidia, Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, Micron Technology, and Alphabet, with semiconductor and hardware firms claiming four of five positions. "This shift in value creation from cyclical, commoditized hardware to the global value pinnacle in just a few years is unprecedented in modern industrial history," said John Talbott, head of UBS Holt research.
