Foreign Investors Shift to Net Buying of 6.2 Trillion Won in KOSPI Over 4 Days

According to the Korean Exchange, foreign investors shifted to net buying of 6.2 trillion won in the KOSPI market from July 20-23, reversing weeks of sharp selling pressure. The buying accelerated following Alphabet's Q2 earnings report on July 22-23, when foreigners net purchased approximately 5 trillion won in two days, with SK Hynix and Samsung Electronics accounting for roughly half of total foreign buying. Analysts attributed the reversal to easing concerns about AI investment peak-out after Alphabet confirmed continued capital expenditure expansion alongside improving cloud profitability, and to stabilization of the won-dollar exchange rate from above 1,500 won to around 1,400 won.
