South Korea's 10-Year Bond Futures Fall 19 Ticks to 104.99 as Brent Crude Surges 2% Overnight

According to Seoul Bond Market data, on July 22, South Korea's 10-year government bond futures fell 19 ticks to 104.99 overnight as U.S. Treasury prices weakened amid rising international oil prices. Trading volume remained subdued compared to typical levels.

Brent crude oil's September contract rose 2.01% to $91.01 per barrel, marking the first close above $90 since July 11. The surge was driven by Yemen-based Houthi forces declaring a blockade of the Red Sea, prompting at least four Saudi oil-laden tankers to turn back in the waterway. The Houthi militia warned global shipping companies via email that they would ban cargo loading and unloading from all Saudi ports. U.S. President Donald Trump stated at the White House that if such actions occur, "we will handle it."
