According to Investing Live on July 22, Houthi forces declared a naval blockade of the Red Sea against Saudi Arabia, prompting four oil tankers to change course, with two redirecting to the Suez Canal. Vessel tracking data shows ships bound for or departing from Saudi Arabia face increased attack risks, particularly affecting the major port of Jeddah. The EU naval mission ASPIDES advised vessels linked to the U.S., Israel, and Saudi Arabia to avoid Red Sea transit. Such disruptions could cut up to 8–9 million barrels of daily oil supply.
