Hyundai Denies Humanoid Robot Plan Is Part of Current Labor Talks with South Korean Union

According to Hyundai, the company denied on July 22 that its humanoid robot deployment plan is part of current labor negotiations with striking autoworkers at its South Korean facility. The automaker stated that the union's demands focus on compensation-related issues such as wage increases, bonuses, and workers' retirement age extensions, not robot deployment concerns. Hyundai's current Atlas humanoid robot deployment plan is limited to Metaplant America, an electric vehicle factory near Savannah, Georgia, with operations starting in 2028.
