KIST Launches Korea's First AI Data Center Thermal Management Consortium With 45+ Institutions on July 23

According to the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), the organization launched Korea's first industry-academia-research consortium dedicated to thermal management for AI data centers on July 23. The inaugural meeting drew nearly 300 experts from 45+ institutions, including Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, LG Electronics, Seoul National University, Yonsei University, and the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI). The consortium aims to establish standardized thermal management technologies, develop technical roadmaps, create testing standards, and implement joint demonstration projects to enhance the competitiveness of Korea's AI data center ecosystem as demand for high-performance semiconductors with increased heat generation grows.
