MLCC Shipments Hit Five-Year High in June Amid AI Demand Surge; Consumer-Grade Inventory Falls to 30 Days

According to TrendForce data cited by Citrini analyst Jukan on July 28, South Korean and Japanese MLCC makers achieved record monthly shipments in June, with Murata reaching 140 billion units, Samsung Electro-Mechanics 98 billion, and Taiyo Yuden 40 billion, driven by surging AI demand. Production capacity is rapidly shifting from consumer-grade to AI-grade specifications, causing mid-to-high-capacity consumer MLCC inventory to plunge to 30 days or below. The tight supply is driving channel prices up 20–25%, with spot market prices reaching 2–3 times original levels.
