According to CCTV Finance, on July 14, molybdenum ferroalloy prices jumped 15,000 yuan per ton compared to the previous day, reaching 332,000 yuan per ton. The metal, known as the "industrial vitamin," is widely used in steelmaking, high-end equipment, and new energy sectors. Molybdenum ferroalloy serves as an alloy additive for specialty steel production. Prices have surged nearly 30% cumulatively in the first half of 2026, driven by tight market supply and growing demand from emerging applications in advanced display, perovskite solar cells, and semiconductors.
