Nvidia Ships Vera CPU to OpenAI, Anthropic, SpaceX on July 21; Features 88 Cores, 50% IPC Boost

According to CNBC, Nvidia released specifications for its Vera data center CPU on July 21 and delivered the first chips to OpenAI, Anthropic, and SpaceX. Vera, Nvidia's first in-house server CPU, features 88 custom Olympus cores and delivers up to 50% higher instructions per cycle compared to its earlier Grace CPU. The company also claims Vera achieves 1.8x higher sandbox performance on agentic workloads versus the latest x86 CPUs, based on Nvidia-measured data.
