Ondo Finance Launches Ondo Network for Self-Custodied Trading; Protocol Holds $3.48B in Assets

Ondo Finance launched the Ondo Network on Monday, an execution layer that runs application code inside hardware enclaves and settles asset transfers on public blockchains. The network replaces the Layer 1 chain the company announced in February 2025 and never deployed. Ondo's protocol currently holds US$3.48 billion in assets, with US$1.89 billion on Ethereum.

Ondo Perps, the perpetual futures platform launched this month, is the first application running on the network. The platform describes itself as combining "the speed and privacy of a centralized exchange" with blockchain verifiability and non-custodial design.
