Peter Schiff Criticizes MicroStrategy for Selling $544.5M Shares Without Buying Bitcoin as Yield Falls to 4.5%

Peter Schiff criticized MicroStrategy on July 27 for selling $544.5 million of MSTR shares last week without purchasing any Bitcoin. According to Schiff, MicroStrategy's Bitcoin Yield has collapsed to 4.5% year-to-date, down from 13.3% on May 25—a 66% decline in two months. Bitcoin Yield measures the amount of Bitcoin held behind each MSTR share. The company held 843,775 BTC but did not acquire additional coins during the recent equity raise, causing the metric to deteriorate. Schiff urged investors bullish on Bitcoin to buy BTC directly rather than hold MSTR stock.
