Revolut to Delist USDT in Europe and Switzerland by August 31, 2026

Revolut announced it will discontinue support for Tether's USDT stablecoin for customers in the European Economic Area and Switzerland, effective August 31, 2026, citing compliance with the European Union's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA). The move does not affect Revolut users outside these regions, who will retain access to the $184 billion stablecoin. Tether has chosen not to seek authorization under MiCA, forcing European platforms to choose between offering the dominant dollar stablecoin or reducing legal exposure. The delisting reflects how MiCA is reshaping stablecoin availability across European retail platforms, potentially favoring compliance-approved alternatives.
