According to Just the News, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Sunshine Protection Act on July 15 with a bipartisan vote of 308 to 117, moving to make daylight saving time permanent year-round. Under the proposed legislation, the country would permanently adopt the time currently used from March through November, while allowing states to opt out before the law takes effect. The bill now requires Senate approval to become law. President Trump has expressed support for the measure, citing the economic costs of the current twice-yearly time adjustment.
