Volkswagen, Horizon Robotics Deepen AI Driving Cooperation in China via CARIZON

According to Yicai, Volkswagen Group and Horizon Robotics have deepened AI model cooperation through CARIZON, the joint venture between Volkswagen's CARIAD software unit and Horizon, to build a unified AI driving solution for Volkswagen Group China. Under the agreement, CARIZON will use a white-box licensing model combining Horizon's AI foundation model with the C7H chip—an upcoming processor targeting 500-700 TOPS performance based on Horizon's Journey 7 family. CARIZON was initially announced in 2022 as part of a roughly 2.4-billion-euro partnership and formally established in late 2023 to localize advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) for the Chinese market.
