On April 26, 2011, Satoshi Nakamoto disappeared from the internet.
But before leaving, he left two completely different final traces -
Email version: He told Bitcoin core developer Gavin Andresen that he has “turned to other matters”. It sounds calm, even a bit indifferent.
Forum Version: His last public statement was a security warning - “DoS has more work to do”.
These two pieces of information form a stark contrast. On one side is the farewell of “I want to leave,” while on the other is the mindset of an engineer still concerned about network security. Some say this suggests he might be dealing with an urgent issue; others believe this is his final message regarding Bitcoin.
Thirteen years have passed, and we still do not know where he went, nor what that DoS warning was pointing to. The mystery of Satoshi Nakamoto lies here—he never explains his decisions, leaving only code and question marks.
