Larsen continues to withdraw money: What's really going on with XRP?
The numbers speak for themselves. Ripple co-founder Chris Larsen has pocketed $764 million since 2018 through his XRP sales. What’s interesting is the pattern that CryptoQuant analysts uncovered: he sells right when XRP hits local highs, as if he has a sixth sense for market timing.
What’s happening now
In 2025, Larsen has accelerated his pace. His realized gains have already surpassed $764 million, compared to less than $200 million accumulated over seven years. Recently, he moved 50 million XRP to his investment wallet (Evernorth), confirming he’s still in cash-out mode.
Meanwhile, XRP is suffering. The price has fallen 34% from its highs of $3.66, partly due to large withdrawals from Larsen’s wallets. The selling volume is real.
What’s next?
For XRP to bounce back, it needs to recover two key levels:
Technical indicators show signs of weakening in the decline: bullish divergence on RSI and a possible bullish crossover on MACD. Alert traders are already buying the dips.
However, Larsen still controls approximately $1 billion in XRP. As long as he keeps selling at the peaks, the recovery will be slow.
