When the market is wildly fluctuating, the most profitable are not those chasing highs and selling lows. The true winners often do one thing that seems very ordinary—exchanging to USD, depositing fixed-term, earning interest.

Recently, the offshore RMB exchange rate broke below 7, returning to the 6s. This is not just a numerical change; it reflects a huge shift in capital flows and expectations. At the beginning of the year, when the exchange rate was 7.35, some people already sensed the trend. They simply exchanged RMB for USD—sounds very ordinary, but what was the effect?

Suppose at the start of the year, you exchanged 7.35 million RMB at an exchange rate of 7.35 for 1 million USD, then threw it into a USD fixed deposit with a 4% annual interest rate. And now? The 1.04 million USD is sitting in your account. Just from the appreciation of the exchange rate alone, you’ve locked in significant paper gains, not to mention the monthly interest. Compared to the recent crashes in stocks, bonds, and digital assets, this move might seem… boring, but also quite smart.

This is the logic of "holding U, waiting for the dip." When macro uncertainty rises sharply, holding USD or stablecoins like USDT, USDC is essentially hedging against RMB depreciation. But it’s much more than that—it’s also avoiding volatility in the crypto market, credit risks in bonds, and systemic risks in stocks. A seemingly passive choice, in fact, is using the lowest cost to gain the broadest protection.

The crypto world always likes to talk about FOMO, chasing highs, and overnight riches. But those who truly build wealth are often those willing to stay calm when the market is most crazy. They don’t need to hit every beat perfectly; they just need to make the right asset allocation decisions at critical moments. A difference of 7.35 to 7.0 in the exchange rate, or a 4% annual interest, may seem insignificant, but that’s the beginning of compound interest.

Wow, this is what I did at the beginning of the year. I was ridiculed back then, but now I feel great. Our kind of boring operations are the most profitable. While others chase the highs and sell the lows, I just hold fixed-term deposits, and I laugh last. That wave at the beginning of the year was really crucial. Those who understood already jumped on board.

Damn, finally someone said it. The people in the crypto circle are always shouting about shitcoins, but aren't they getting wrecked pretty badly? Seeing others earn 4% interest, I’m here losing my pants trading coins... It’s really ironic. Wait, this logic doesn’t add up. Can I still exchange to USD now? Hasn’t the exchange rate gone back up? But on the other hand, I have to admit, making steady money is way more reliable than us gamblers... It’s a bit annoying. The folks who exchanged USD at the beginning of the year are truly old foxes, and they even have the nerve to call themselves retail investors. Actually, it’s just a matter of asset allocation, right? But the crypto world just wants you to go all in, understand? No matter how well you put it, you still can’t get 4%. Which bank offers USD fixed deposits? The real winners are those who don’t play at all—truly invincible.

Ah, it's ridiculous how in the crypto world people are always FOMOing every day, but when someone quietly makes money, it's still such a simple thing. Damn, exchanging 735 for 1 million USD is already a guaranteed profit. If it were me, I would have already lost control and gone all-in on some shitcoin. Honestly, holding U doesn't sound exciting, but really, 4% a year is much faster than getting liquidated on an exchange. How many people can truly hold steady at 7.35 and wait until now? I can't do it; I'm suffering from FOMO to the core. This is the real difference between new and seasoned investors, right? We keep thinking about 10x, 100x returns, while they steadily earn compound interest.

Wow, this is truly stable income. Much smarter than those who watch K-line charts daily and get liquidated.

Wow, this is true great wisdom, much more reliable than chasing altcoins every day.
