The test was conducted on a satellite orbiting the Earth. Filecoin Foundation Chair Marta Belcher stated that IPFS effectively reduces latency in space data transmission by utilizing content addressing and retrieving data from the nearest copies. Additionally, the distributed architecture of IPFS helps handle data corruption caused by radiation and ensures data integrity through encryption verification, which is crucial for data reliability in the space environment.
